SEX DRUGS AND FREEDOM OF THE SOUL

“I have the right to explore my own consciousness.  I have the right to evolve.”  PAN MUZIK

SEX is arguably the most awesome, mysterious, exciting, nourishing, uniting experience a human can have in their body.  Sex takes us out of ourselves, is how we merge our physical and soul energy with that of another being and can lead us to a communion of souls that is, simply, truly and utterly – holy.

Our bodies are able to experience incredible amounts of pleasure, they are vehicles of sensation, storehouses of emotion and they become even more alive when they give and receive love.  Sex united with love heals our wounds and those of the collective consciousness.  The energy we generate through sex can be spiritual, transformative and full of power.

Which is why it is such a pity that the modern world is still fucked up about sex.

In the move away from the taboos around sexuality that religion continues to try to hold in place, many have come to see sex as a simple act of gratification, or as a mundane act in a relationship, or as a commodity in a world powered by money.  The fact that sex can take us into ecstatic transcendent states is ignored except in a small but growing number of circles where tantra, or the shamanic potential of bdsm, is being explored.  But in fact most of us get to experience this for ourselves sooner or later when the right chemistry with the right person opens us up to the real power of sexuality.

For those hanging on to religious dogmas, sex is still something designed for procreation, or allowable only in marriage.  And if we are queer, we all know that the sex we love is called abominable by a sizeable portion of the world’s religious leaders and their followers.

The messages we are sending to the young are very confused.  Sex is the life force itself seeking expression in us – but we don’t tell the kids that.  We don’t tell them that this energy has sacred qualities, and is likely to open emotional and spiritual doorways whether we want it to or not.  We warn them about unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases but the sacred qualities of sex are largely pushed out of the picture.  Seems to me we confuse the young and despite the advances since the 1960s, the age of guilt, fear and shame around sex is not over yet.

Sex can take us into experience of the energies of the deepest soul parts – the divinity – of our sexual partners, can bring bodies and souls into blissful union and reveal our connection to the creative source of existence itself.

DRUGS can do the same.

But we don’t tell the young generations that either.  We tell them drugs will fuck them up, our system makes them criminals for taking explorations into their own consciousness.

SEX AND DRUGS are direct pathways into deeper knowledge of who we are.  Is this why those in power have put so much energy into trying to keep us away from them?  Without ecstatic experiences we humans remain caught up in limited worldviews, which keeps us in fear, ignorance and obedient to the ruling classes.  The priests have largely lost their hold on most of us, but the political and corporate bosses of our world keep the same fears in place.  Of course there are other ways of entering a state of bliss – nature can take us there, so can dance, song, art etc.  Our modern rational culture has on the whole little idea about the need for ecstasy in our lives – of it’s healing potential.

AN OPEN-MINDED, GENEROUS HEARTED CULTURE OF TOLERANT, PEACEABLE, LOVING PEOPLE ALREADY EXISTS ACROSS THE WHOLE PLANET.  THERE ARE MANY WHO HAVE SEEN THROUGH THE LIES, HYPOCRISIES AND STUPIDITIES OF THE CURRENT SITUATION – AND ON THE WHOLE WE ARE GETTING ON WITH LIVING LIFE THE WAY WE WOULD LIKE IT TO BE, TO THE BEST OF OUR ABILITY UNDER THE REPRESSIVE REGIMES SUCH AS EVEN WE IN THE WEST HAVE TO EXIST UNDER.

In this culture drugs are respected as doorways to conscious experience (or simply to pleasure for many – why is that still illegal?) – ecstatic states are sought out, revelled in and learned from – the right of all people to pursue lifestyles of their own choice and inclination is respected – the diversity and beauty of life is celebrated, as is friendship, peace and love.  The freedom to explore who we are, free from taboos around sexuality and free to explore drugs in an informed and safe manner, should be a basic human right. As the opening quotation from PAN MUZIK says, we have the right to evolve.

Many of us on the planet know this.  Most of us perhaps.  But the men with the guns, the money, the courts and the prisons are still holding all the power.  The time is coming for the people of peace and soul freedom to gently remove that power from them.

We are supposed to believe we live in age of reason and freedom, but we are in a time where the thirst of the soul to know its limitlessness and union with the All is denied and repressed.  Except that is, for those of us who are taking our lives and destinies into our own hands.
